Hardfacing Welding Electrodes

MAXIDURA HF-350 is a Rutile type medium coated hardfacing electrode producing air hardening type carbon- chromium alloy. The weld deposit is machinable and resistant to moderate abrasion and impact. Ideally suitable for hardfacing wheels, shear blades, cams, pulley, sprockets, gears, crane wheels, roll, wobblers etc.

Application

• A Hard facing, electrode, operates well in all conventional positions. Typical applications include chipper knives, conveyer bucket lips, shear blades, rock crusher, rock drill, tractor grousers, hot work dies, crusher hammer, final layer on manganese steel parts  subject to high abrasion or impact to protect it from initial wear.

Properties

• Basic, all position electrode.
• The deposit is particularly resistant to heat.
• Hardness 44-46 HRC.

Procedure

• Clean the surface thoroughly.  Remove all cracked and spalled metal. Use short arc and lay stringer beads. Weld 2-3 layers. Finish weld metal by machining.

MAXIDURA-550 is a Rutile type medium coated hardfacing electrode producing air hardening type hard weld metal which is non machinable and resistant to severe abrasion and moderate impact or both together in service. Easy operated on DC(-) and AC. Suitable for mine rails, crusher, hammer, drilling bits, bamboo and cane cutting knifes, conveyor buckets, crane wheels, oil expeller etc.

MAXIDURA HF-100

Application

• Electrode for tough and wear-resistant surfacing alloy deposit. surfacing of parts subject to wear or impact. rims, carbon-alloyed rails, dies, striking tools, rolling surfaces, sliding surfaces subject to heavy wear, matrixes, stampers, etc,

Properties

• Basic, all position electrode.
• The deposit is particularly resistant to impact.
• Thick surfacing without intermediate layers possible.

Procedure

• Clean the surface thoroughly.  Remove all cracked and spalled metal. Use short arc and lay stringer beads. Weld 2-3 layers. Finish weld metal by machining.

Application

• For joining manganese steel parts, hardfacing of parts subject to heavy impact and stress. For use on big crushing equipment for rocks, jaws, cones, gyratory crushing mantles, excavator teeth, manganese rails etc.

Properties

• The deposit is work-hardening type and highly resistant to cracking and deformation during working.
• Excellent abrasion resistance in the work-hardened condition.
• Prolonged working life even when subjected simultaneously to impact and abrasion.

Procedure

• Ensure proper cleasing of the area to be welded. Remove the fatigued area by gouging, using Groove alloy, do not preheat manganese steel. Interpass temperature should be kept below 150 Degree c using staggered or skip welding. Hot peening helps reducing stresses. Cool slowly. For small component immerse in water.
